Carried in a wicker cage by an unassuming local, Vina's long-awaited 'guinea pig' is a pure albino... squirrel? How 'tikus' putih changed to 'tupai' putih, no one dares conjecture, but the snow-white, pink-eyed, bushy-tailed beast turns heads from launch to port. A whole assembly line of workers, servants, neighbors pause to marvel as a modified coop is passed from hand to hand along the quay, until it reaches hers whose hair now mimes the sky.

Blue converts to scarlet, in cahoots with Vina's anger,

but diminishes in intensity on appraisal of her 'prey,' a host of splendid possibilities come to mind.

Causing quite a stir herself, since few have seen such hair-hues (and even those who have react with sidelong looks and stares), the child-geneticist ('mouse' in hand) repairs to The Lab.
